I had turned my attention back to mister tiger. Here's where he was when I left off.
I had hoped to finish up the leaves and the background in the center section... and I did!
Filling in the background was the perfect mindless stitching I needed as a distraction from work. I recently changed teams and managers (unexpectedly), and my new manager has very different ways of working. So it's been a little rough. Still, I know that I'm lucky to still be working, and when we finish the 2021 budgeting and planning I think things will be less hectic. At least I hope so!
And speaking of 2021, I plan on kicking off the year by working on the bottom row of this piece. I'll roll the canvas, stitch the bushes, and then start on the background. We'll see how much progress I make when we check in next time, on January 17.
Till then, please check out the projects by my fellow stitch-a-long stitchers. Every piece is so different and so interesting -- they inspire me every time!
Wow! You made sooo much progress! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Renee! It was a very nice distraction to have. The lower part requires some counting, so I think it will be much slower.
DeleteThis is a completely gorgeous piece! You sure got a TON done this time. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Connie! I love how rich the colors are. It's amazing that just blending two colors of wool on the background give it so much texture. Happy New Year to you, too!
DeleteWow! The tiger section looks good enough to be on its own. I hope things get easier at work soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Avis! The bands at the top and bottom are relatively narrow, though they'll go more slowly as I'll need to focus and count :)
DeleteBeautiful project and you made loads of progress! Hope things settle at work for you xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful fun productive day. You're doing an awesome job and that background looks flawless. Here's to a less stress 2021 :)
ReplyDeleteoops my comm sort of disappeared instead of publishing!
ReplyDeletelovely to see the progress on this one, Sunny. There's something very appealing about big cats ^^
Sorry I wasn't able to join in with your happy dancing over the completion of the Christmas banner. It's so cute! Too bad about the stress at work; hopefully that will indeed improve as the new year wears on. Hurray for mindless needlepoint! I've done a fair bit myself lately. (Not featured in my SAL post, but in the previous post or two.) Here's to better days in the new year all around!
ReplyDeleteWow, that’s a lot of stitches you did this round, he looks fabulous with the background all filled in!
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for mindless stitching! I could use a little of that right now. You have a good attitude about your work. Maybe you just need a little more time to get used to your new boss.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress! Well done!
