Scrap Happy Afghan part 5

Hi everyone - hope you are all staying safe and healthy.

I've been working on this afghan for a few months now; the yarn was leftover from a temperature afghan I made in 2017. (2017! Can you believe it?!?!)

Last month I had two and a half color passes done:

Despite the fact that the yarn is running out (hooray!), I didn't get through the four passes I wanted to. But I have done three and a half passes! And yes, Bub felt he needed to be in the picture again. Probably for scale.

And in even better news: there's very little yarn left!

By our next check in -- June 15 -- I hope to be finished with the body of the blanket and well on the way to having a simple border stitched.

ScrapHappy Day is organized by Kate and Gun, so if you're interested in participating please see their blogs. And my fellow ScrapHappy Stitchers are super creative, visit their blogs to see how they're using up some of their scraps.

  1. I've been watching this grow, and the more I see, the more I love it! It has such a 3D effect despite being effectively monochromatic. What are you planning for the border?

    1. Thanks Kate! I'm afraid the border will be exceedingly simple -- maybe a round or two of double crochet in black, followed by one round of the darkest grey I still have quite a bit of, and then finishing it off with black.
