Here's where I was last time:
And ... bam! Swans!!!
What's more, I finished the stitching on the side borders, and designed a simple repeating pattern for that bottom (and matching top) border.
Three weeks ago I felt like this was going to take a few more check-ins to complete ... but as of today I feel like I'll be doing a happy dance next time! Shouldn't get too cocky, though -- we'll see how the next three weeks go!
I owe a lot of my progress to the support -- and accountability! -- of this stitch-a-long. It's definitely keeping me motivated on this piece. If you fancy joining in, visit Avis's blog (first on the list below) for more info. See you on July 21st for our next check-in!
It's absolutely stunning and I love your chosen border. It's good to hear the virtual whip-cracking works :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Avis! Really hoping to do a happy dance next time!!
DeleteWow! That makes at least three of us in this SAL who might be happy dancing by the next check in. I won't be one of them - at least, I hope not. I need my current needlepoint projects to last a while. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! This has been such a great project but I'm looking forward to getting my needle into something new.
DeleteOh wow, Sunny! You have really moved along with this! I can't wait to see it next time in all of its glory! Excited for the happy dance to come!
ReplyDeleteThank you! But I also have to confess that I also did more than a bit of "cramming" in the last few days of this session so I would have progress to show!!!
DeleteGreat progress!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deletegood to see you got that bottom border sorted out

Thanks Claire! I like the way it stitched up, too -- now I just need to finish the top border and I'll be done with the stitching. Happy dance next time, I hope!
DeleteIt certainly looks like a finish is imminent. This will be a beauty of a piece.
ReplyDeleteYes, June is one of those months that has so much going on in it. All good!
Thanks Jocelyn! I'm really looking forward to getting it off the frame soon.
DeleteAmazing progress! It looks fabulous too, you should be so pleased with it!
